Ever imagined, why does all the business brands emphasize more on their  logos? You may have heard big brands spending tons of money just for logo. But actually it's not JUST a logo it's the face of the company that makes its presence wherever the products of the brand travel.

As the most famous proverb goes, "A picture has thousand words in it", so does the logo of a brand.

WHAT IS LOGO???

Logo is the corporate identity and brand all wrapped up into one identifiable mark. This mark is the avatar and symbol of the business as a whole. It can comprise of colors, letters, perform, symbols or q combination of any of these.

What we don’t realize is that many of them (logos) have a deeply rooted meaning hidden in or behind the famous symbol.

Let's uncover the meaning hidden behind few famous brands.

1. Unilever

A big 'U' which is made of various small symbols denoting their various core products, with each icon representing  an aspect of the business. It's a way to showcase that they have spread their arms in varied fields. It includes 25 icons, which individually and altogether represent something important to Unilever and their effort to make sustainable living commonplace. 2. Apple

One of the top brands and most recognized logos at time. The apple symbol- symbolizes knowledge. But how?? To know the story behind the emergence of the logo, one should go back where the human life started. This logo is theorized  to have come from the story of Adam and Eve. In the Bible, Adam and Eve are tempted by Satan, to taste this fruit from the Tree of Knowledge.  Once Adam and Eve had their first taste of knowledge, they knew that they were naked and they were ashamed. That first bite of the apple represents the FALL OF MAN. Thus, the Apple logo symbolizes human's usage of their computers to obtain knowledge and, ideally, enlighten the human race. 3. Google

Another big player of modern era. The present logo was developed by Ruth Kedar, Graphic designer. He once

said that, "there were a lot of different color iterations". They stuck with the primary color palette but broke it with a secondary color, green. This symbolizes that they don't follow rules and they know how to have fun. Instead of conveying this message through a crazy font or symbol, they chose to relay their message with color.  4. Amazon

That yellow arrow is more than just a decorative swoosh. The yellow arrow beneath the letters starts from 'A' and ends pointing towards 'Z' of "Amazon". This depicts that Amazon sells everything on their platform from A to Z.  And further this arrow symbolically shows the smile, with the arrowhead being a simple or smile line on the customer's face when they buy any product from Amazon. 5. LG

Though everyone could recognize the letters 'L' and 'G' in the logo, only few can conclude that these letters make a face. The 'L' of LG logo forms the nise and 'G' forms the outline of face. This logo denotes that the brand has got a human element which makes it more inviting and approaching. 6. Netflix

The animation, called an "ident" in designer lingo, explodes Netflix's "N" into a spectrum of coloured vertical light beams that shoot toward the viewer. The exploding-N animation is "inspired by the spectrum of stories, emotions, languages, fans, and creators that collectively make up who we are as  a brand", the company said.  It also changed its red-on-white background to darker background  to get viewers "in the mood for an immersive,  cinematic experience at home, on the subway or wherever you're choosing to watch", the company further explained. 7. Snapchat

Snapchat logo was created in just one evening by one of its founders.Snapchat made its debut in 2011. Snapchat was previously  introduced by different name Picaboo. It represents Ghostface Chillah based on Ghost face killah of the Wu-Tang Clan. It represents spontaneity, simplicity, and a blank face canvas for creativity. It's a disposable messaging app, so messages and pictures are instantly deleted once opened, hence the logo is ghost shaped. One minute the snap is there the next it's gone. Just like a ghost. 8. Samsung

In korean, the word samsung means - Three  stars. The present logo is a wordmark that features a customized  typeface, either helvetica Black or the DDT Cond Semibold Font. The letter "A" is given without the horizontal  bar which reflects the constant strive for innovation which is characteristic for the brand. 9. Xiaomi

Xiaomi is a Chinese tech company started in 2010, its logo reflects its global ambitions and interests in innovation. The logo features stylized letters "MI" inside an orange rectangle with rounded corners. According  to official explanation given by company, "MI" is an abbreviation for 'Mobile Internet' and also " Mission Impossible". The orange and white combination in logo depicts the bright and joyous nature.  10. Beats

This logo was developed by Dre. The logo shows the letter 'b' (which represents Beats) enclosed in a circle followed by the brand name. Here 'b' denotes the brand's headphones and the circle, isn't just a circle. It's actually the human head giving his brand a personal element and allowing customer to see themselves in the headphones. Thus, a logo maker's job deals with creativity as a logo should be simple, unique yet globally acceptable and attractive. However, it's fun to crack the messages hidden in logos. Keep on cracking, keep on having fun.
