In the process of inventing light-bulb he failed thousands of times, to which when asked he responded "I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
2. Michael Jordan
Probably the world's greatest basketball player ever, was a victim of failure too. Can you imagine this man was once cut from his high School Basketball team.

Jordan once said, "I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
3. Walt Disney

The person who made our childhood wonderful. He revolutionized the cartoon and gave life to fairy tales and many more stories which are cherished till date. There was a period he struggling to make the ends meets.
Walt Disney- an entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor and film producer, tasted success after many rejections and failures.
He was a High School drop-out. In 1919, he was fired by a newspaper editor for an unbelievable reason that he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas." Funny, Right! He almost sold vacuum cleaners for a living. In January 1920, he formed a small company which went into loss. He left temporarily to earn money at the Kansas City Film Ad Company.

Mickey Mouse was not his first Big Creation. It was Oswald- the Lucky Rabbit which made him to renegotiate his contract to increase his pay for which the producer fired him and stole his character. This gave rise to the sensational animated character Mortimer Mouse for which his wife suggested renaming as Mickey Mouse. He lead his voice to Mickey Mouse. He still holds the record for the most academy awards and 59 Oscar Nominations out of which he won 22 Oscar Awards. If you dig deep, however, you can take a lot of inspiration from his story.
4. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)
Colonel Harland Sanders- this name might be new to us but not his "Secret Recipe" 'cause "It's Finger lickin' good". Yes, his secret recipe not only won the hearts but also the stomachs of millions of people across the world who embrace KFC.

His life story is a rigorous test of success. KFC secret recipe was rejected 1009 times. He was a dropout at school. He was fired from multiple jobs as a conductor, a blacksmith, a salesman and a boat operator. It's alleged that he was often fired for his hot-temper which even ruined his legal career. He was divorced by his wife and was set back by Great depression, fires and World War 2, yet still created one of the largest fast food chains in the world.
KFC was expanded globally and the Co. was sold for $2 million and his face is still celebrated in the logos.
Currently KFC has more than 18,000 outlets in over 100 countries and everyday, more than 12 million customers are served at KFC outlets around he world.
5. Bear Grylls
The man who survives against all the odds. The fame of "Man Vs. Wild" telecasted on Discovery Channel is Edward Michael Grylls OBE better known as "Bear Grylls", left no stone unturned when it comes to survival reality series. Bear Grylls hasn't let failure define him.

Nearly to death moment...
Bear Grylls was previously serving with the SAS, UK Special Forces. In 1996, during a skydiving exercise, Bear's parachute ripped at nearly 16000 ft, causing him to plummet toward the ground at high speeds. He crushed three of his vertebrae and broke his back. Unfortunately Bear was removed from UK Special Forces. He was a reservist in the 21st SAS Regiment for 3 years, from 1994 to 1997.
Doctors told him that he could barely walk after this incident.
But he didn't lose his faith and achieved his childhood dream, he climbed the Mt. Everest in 1998, 18 months after breaking his vertebrae. Bear claims that it was one of his scariest moments ever as during the last leg of his climb atop Everest dehydration and a blinding migraine hit him. One among the six members survived through the climb, that one being Bear himself.

Joanne Rowling better known by her pen name "JK Rowling" grew up in Gloucestreshire, England, and always knew she wanted to be an author.
Rowling had difficult years when she was younger. Rowling never had it as bad as Harry living with the Dursleys.
She wrote her first book at age of six- a story about a rabbit called "Rabbit". At eleven, she wrote her first novel about 7 cursed diamonds and their owners. At 26, she moved to Portugal and taught English. After being seperated as a single mother she lived in a small flat and while going to cafes she started a book that was about a boy who found out he was a wizard and was sent off to wizard school, yes you guessed it right. It's Harry Potter Novel.
She considered committing suicide as she was plummeted, poor and totally depressed. She sent her manuscript to 12 different publisher and got REJECTED 12 timessss( A dozen times).
Finally, the editor at Bloomsbury Publishing Company sat down to read the manuscript, interestingly his 8-year-old daughter also read it simultaneously loved the opening chapters and begged to read the whole thing. Bloomsbury then published Harry Porter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
And the rest is all history...
7. Stephen King

Stephen Edwin Kin, who took horror stories to another level, is an American novelist and short-story writer. His books were credited with reviving the genre of horror fiction in the late 20th century.
His writing career started when he started writing articles for his brother’s newspaper. His first novel called “The Long Walk” was badly rejected in 1965. King was struggling with his writing till 1970 when his another attempt “the Dark Tower Saga” failed due to lack of money.
King was working as a teacher in rural Maine when he wrote his first published novel, “Carrie”. King had some small success selling short stories previously, but nothing that anyone could create a “career” on. King submitted “Carrie” 30 times.
King was rejected 30 times. Before his 31st attempt he threw the manuscript out. His wife rescued it from the round file and asked him to try one more time. This time he tasted the success.
8. Albert Einstein

Probably the first person who pops into everyone's mind when we hear the word "Genius".
Even Einstein didn’t get that title overnight. He went through many struggles. He had speech difficulties as a child and was once even thought to be mentally handicapped. As a teen he rebelled against his school’s method of rote learning and failed.
He attempted the Zurich Polytechnic entrance test, but failed again. Apparently he scored very well in the math and physics section. He took this serious and with mere determination received the requisite training and applied to Zurich Polytechnic again, and this time of course he was accepted.
A few years later he had a PhD and was recognized as a leading theorist. And a few years after that he had a Nobel prize for physics and began to be recognized as the genius of our modern era.

He was a software engineer that no one wanted to hire. In 2009, despite a dozen years of experience at Yahoo and Apple Computer, he was rejected by the top 2 internet's most upcoming companies at time: first TWITTER and then FACEBOOK.
Finally when he could not find any other company that would hire him, he decided to built the application that not only dominated cloud-based messaging, but also gained worldwide popularity and accessed throughout the globe.
Apparently, Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014 for about $19 Billion USD in cash and stock which made Acton's net worth around $3.8 Billion.
10. Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was an American statesman, politician, and lawyer who served as the 16th president of the United States.
With very little formal education, he taught himself and became lawyer and later congressman.
But before that, in 1832, he lost his job and was even defeated for legislature. Later he failed in business. In 1834,he was elected to legislature. A year later his Sweetheart( Ann Rutledge) died. The following year he had nervous breakdown. He was defeated for Speaker and for nomination for Congress. He was elected to congressman 2 years before he lost his renomination. Then he was rejected for land officer. He was defeated for Senate twice and once for nomination for vice president.
Finally, in 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected as US President.
He preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the US Economy.
These are just few stories who fought their failures in a undeterred manner and achieved their success.

Hence, it is very important for every individual to define their own concept of success rather than following someone else’s footsteps. We must analyze what makes us happy, what gives us contentment, and what motivates us. No one can list out our needs better than us. One should remember that only perseverance can lead the path to success. Success is a journey which continues even after the goal is achieved.
